In the Wilderness | A Wild West Coast Elopement Inspiration
There's something incredibly romantic about exchanging vows surrounded by nature. No grand ballroom, no elaborate decorations—just two people, breathtaking scenery, and thoughtfully designed florals that complement the landscape rather than compete with it.
This west coast elopement-inspired styled shoot was created to celebrate exactly that feeling.
Soft Florals Against a Wild Landscape
Set against New Zealand's rugged coastline, the dramatic black sand, windswept grasses and wild ocean created the perfect contrast to soft, romantic florals.
For this floral design, I chose layers of ivory, soft peach, blush and gentle pink blooms, paired with carefully selected dried foliage to echo the surrounding landscape. The soft colour palette brought warmth and romance while allowing the dramatic scenery to remain the hero.
Designed for an Intimate Celebration
Every floral piece was created with an intimate elopement in mind.
The bouquet featured soft garden-inspired flowers with flowing dried textures.
A Romantic Tablescape
One of my favourite parts of this shoot was the reception styling.
The low dining table created a relaxed, intimate atmosphere that felt perfectly suited to an adventurous couple celebrating beneath the open sky.
Soft florals, candles, layered tableware and natural textures came together to create a setting that felt elegant yet effortless.
The West Coast Magic
As the light softened later in the day, the rugged landscape became even more dramatic. The contrast between the wild coastline and delicate florals is what made this shoot so memorable.
It was such a joy collaborating with an incredibly talented team to bring this vision to life.
